Clutter-Busting Week!
January 11, 2016Read moreI’ve been feeling the weight of clutter lurking in my basement, which has been packed full of boxes since embarking on my living room cafe (LRC) project. It’s a huge mess! Therefore, I’m creating a challenge for myself to get some stuff done by the 18th. Urk. (more…)

Living Room Cafe Update: Tentative Wall Colors
January 6, 2016I’ve been living with the new living room office floor for about six months now. It’s a dark faux-scraped pre-finished hardwood which I really love, though it does have the “hard to keep clean” qualities that others have warned me about. However, I think the overall look is great.Read moreHistory of the Living Room Cafe Color Scheme
In my original selection of the floor, I had come up with the following color scheme, which made sense at the time. More details follow! (more…)

2016 Word Tracking Calendar Now Available for Purchase!
January 1, 2016Every year I make a National Novel Writing Month calendar based on the one I made for my own use the first time I took the writing challenge. It was a visual calendar that tracked my effort while giving me an idea day-to-day and week-to-week how I’m doing. It worked rather well, and it’s a pretty popular calendar when NaNoWriMo rolls around every November.Read moreHere’s my original calendar from 2013, which shows what a filled-out month looks like. Note how the filled-out pyramid shapes gives you a day-to-day idea of
The 12 Month Version
I’ve gotten several requests for a full year version so NaNoWriMo-style writing can happen every month. Although it’s a calendar that is tedious to create due to the amount of careful arithmetic and layout required, I’ve managed to produce it yet again in time for the new year! If you’re writing a thesis, it’s a pretty good way to track the amount of effort you’re applying to your daily writing.
The design of the 12-month calendar is slightly different from the filled-out example, but it’s pretty much the same. If there’s interest in tracking other kind of things let me know what they are, and if you’re willing to throw some money at a future download! :)
HOW TO GET IT
You can find the 2016 Word Counting Calendar at my Shopify store, which is linked from my NaNoWriMo Calendar Page. Alternatively, buy it on Gumroad using this link: https://gum.co/XKRk.
Thanks for your ongoing support! I don’t sell many of these calendars relative to the amount of time it takes, but it’s certainly one of the more useful things I think I make. Enjoy!

Preparing these almanac files is quite time consuming, so I am charging $9 for the download. If you don’t have $9 bucks to spare, by all means continue to use the free downloads on the ETP page! But for those of you who continue to support my work, thank you very much! Every little bit helps support the free tools.
As an added bonus, since I’ve been so late with this upload, I’ve also put the Amazon products on sale until January 31, 2016. Please note that Emergent Task Planner pads are sold out pending a redesign in 2016, but I hope to get them back in the store as soon as possible!

Compact Calendar 2016 Uploaded!
December 29, 2015I’ve finally gotten to the first of my calendar updates, which is the Compact Calendar package for 2016! Both versions for Excel and Numbers are available, and I’ve provided some PDF versions in US and A4 sizes.Read moreThis year, only a couple changes were made.
- I removed the Sunday to Friday version. I don’t think anyone ever used it; if that’s not the case, someone let me know.
- I added a 12-month holiday-less worksheet to the Excel version, which makes it easier for me to generate the A4 versions.
Regarding the black-and-white grainy print. Unfortunately, my expensive Epson WorkForce printer is borked for color printing; I got a bad unit and have been playing telephone tennis with Epson’s customer support to try to get it taken care of. It’s a great printer unless you get one with a bad print head. Sigh.

As always, The Compact Calendar Page has the latest downloads and links to international versions that people have graciously made available.
