Modeling Revenue and Profit (GHD035)
March 7, 2016Read moreAfter yesterday’s card reading, I got to thinking about the products I sell on Amazon. Currently, there are only two: the ETP Small Notebooks and the even smaller 4×6 StickyPads. I knew that they were somewhat profitable, having run the numbers before using my estimator spreadsheet. However, that spreadsheet wasn’t designed for profitability over time. Today I made a new private spreadsheet for managing that information, which fits nicely under my make a neat business Groundhog Day Goal category. (more…)

Freeform Recharge Weekend (GHD033-034)
March 7, 2016Read moreWorking on these goals every day, while somewhat satisfying to date, has also been mentally exhausting. For the weekend of March 5 and 6, I took a break from direct action and instead tried some oblique approaches! On Saturday, I deliberately went for my cooking for others result, and then on Sunday I visited a psychic fair fundraiser in downtown Nashua to see what that was all about. It was a refreshing break, providing some interesting moments of reflection that I wouldn’t ordinarily have had. (more…)

Project Icon Illustration Kickoff (GHD032)
March 4, 2016Read moreI was staring at my website home page again, noticing the placeholder icons I’d made once more. They have always bothered me, but I have been reluctant to actually try making nice ones because I figured the time commitment would be larger and they might come out terrible. I am pretty good with abstract shapes, but not that practiced at all in actual “finished drawing”. That’s why illustration is one of my 2024 goals. So today I am kicking-off a project to make finished icons without knowing exactly what that looks like. (more…)

Groundhog Resolutions Review #1 (GHD031)
March 3, 2016Read moreIt’s MARCH 3, the first Groundhog Day Resolution Review Day of 2016! This is a quite a lengthy review, but I can summarize it as follows:
“Got more done than I thought I had, thanks to the obsessive journaling I do. I am so weird, but somehow I seem to be managing…fingers crossed!”
Read on if you want the hoary details! (more…)

Productivity-Only Email and RSS Subscriptions
March 3, 2016Read moreThere are two audiences that I am aware of on davidseah.com:
- Productivity Enthusiasts who are interested in the tools I develop and the practices that I create around them.
- Personal Development / Process Enthusiasts who are interested in my reflections on the search for meaningful work.
If you are someone who doesn’t have a lot of time and just wants to know what’s knew and what works, I’ve created a new Productivity-Only Option. From the future forward, posts that are tagged “productivity” will be available there, and I’ll try to write them in a more direct style. If you want to save time, subscribe to this feed.
The current all content feed will contain everything, including productivity posts. As my posting frequency jumping upward this year with the Groundhog Day Resolutions Daily challenges, people who are not interested in such things may want to consider updating their subscriptions to use the productivity-only feed.
I’ve also resurrected my personal Tumblr at distracted.davidseah.com. Tumblr is a different kind of community, so I thought it might be fun for sharing cat and food pictures. The user interface is pretty neat too.
