    Life Balance Rough Diagram

Today’s November “thing-a-day” project falls under the “process” category. The onset of cold weather has put me in a foul reflective mood as I itemize the accomplishments of the year, and weigh them against my feeling of irritation. This has driven me back into a hermit-like state of mind, which I recognize as not being healthy in the long run.

This got me thinking today, as I grouched around the house, about what the key elements of a good life for me (as in, the life I am not experiencing at the moment) would be. The result was a strange diagram that might be the key to something. It could be a new form, a piece of writing, or maybe a new direction. I just don’t know what it is yet. Details follow. (more…)

    ETP 8811 Notebook Design

I’ve had a couple of requests for a preview PDF of yesterday’s ETP Full-size Notebook so people could print it out and give it a try. I’ve prepped a preview PDF as today’s THING OF THE DAY.

    Details below! (more…)

    Hardbound ETP

I forget who asked for this, but it’s something I’ve been wanting to make for a while: a hard bound full-size journal. After over a year of searching for a supplier for the covers, my print guy got some samples in and I believe we can finally move forward into production!

I jumped into Illustrator to make a mockup layout for notebook prototyping, and that’s today’s “thing of the day”. Details follow. (more…)

  • Thing-a-Day 05: “ETP To-Go” Task Sticker Mockup

    ETP Sticker Design

This is the second request (after yesterday’s ETP Reporter) for an ETP design: stickers! The idea is to provide some means of adding an ETP element to an existing notebook or journal. This is one part of the design, the TASK LIST with tracking. I imagine I’ll have to make a Day Grid one also…I’ll save that for some other day.

Mockup and trial downloads follow. (more…)

  • Thing-a-Day 04: Reporter-Style ETP Notebooks

    Reporter-Style ETP

After getting to the voting polls at 6AM, I headed to Starbucks to get a jump on today’s THING OF THE DAY.

I’ve been using reporter-style notebooks recently to keep continuity on different complicated projects. One of the nice things about a reporter-style notebook is that they are skinny (4″ wide), which makes them easier to put on your desk to the right of your keyboard without shifting your mouse too far out of the way. Assuming, of course, you are using a tenkeyless-style keyboard like me.

    Mockup and download follows. (more…)
