IE6…Bah!
February 14, 2006Read moreI’m going to run out and buy The Zen of CSS Design, because I’m sick and tired of my site looking like poop in Internet Explorer. I’m going right now…and now I’m back! There was only one copy. Lucky me!

KFC Chicken Pot Pie Sandwich
February 14, 2006Read moreTake a circle of buttery pie crust, fold it like a hot pocket around delicious chicken pot pie filling, then bake it golden brown and just a bit crispy. I just had one at Kentucky Fried Chicken…just awesome! I’m amazed there are no pics on the KFC website or indeed, on the Internet, otherwise I would link it.

QuickPosts RSS Feed
February 13, 2006Read moreI recently added QuickPosts, which are very short mini-posts that link to other articles of interest. These aren’t included in the main RSS feed because I like it that way, and 9rules uses it to automatically pull “real content” into their listings. I think of the main feed as “the main continuity of thought” here, and the QuickPosts as the random distractions.
You can grab the QuickPosts-only RSS feed by clicking this:
https://davidseah.com/syndicated/quickposts
This redirects to a Feedburner-hosted feed, which should allow you to add it to your favorite RSS reader. I personally don’t use RSS readers—I know, gasp—so if there are any glitches, please let me know.

Decoupling My Assumptions
February 13, 2006Read moreI was reflecting about the amount of work I have coming in the days ahead, and had a minor brainstorm. The coming work is cool and I am jazzed about starting! However, I found myself going through a familiar train of thought:
It’s going to be a lot of work, and the rewards will be delayed; I hope the work is worth it.
I felt a little of the energy ooze out of my step. Why was that?
Well, it’s understandable…work is work, and takes away from the “fun” things I might otherwise be doing. I’ve been trying to get my work and my fun to be the same thing, and that’s been about 20% successful. The other 80% of the time I’m thinking of other things that I could be doing, and use think of the completion of the project as the reward. Yay!
On the other hand, spending most of my time thinking about how I’d rather be doing something else…that blows. It then occured to me that decoupling work from reward was a mental strategy with potential productivity benefits.
