QuickPosts RSS Feed

QuickPosts RSS Feed

I recently added QuickPosts, which are very short mini-posts that link to other articles of interest. These aren’t included in the main RSS feed because I like it that way, and 9rules uses it to automatically pull “real content” into their listings. I think of the main feed as “the main continuity of thought” here, and the QuickPosts as the random distractions.

You can grab the QuickPosts-only RSS feed by clicking this:

https://davidseah.com/syndicated/quickposts

This redirects to a Feedburner-hosted feed, which should allow you to add it to your favorite RSS reader. I personally don’t use RSS readers—I know, gasp—so if there are any glitches, please let me know.

I can read the QuickPosts RSS feed, but I can not read any posts in the QuickPosts category :-( Is it a technical problem in your (fantastic!) blog or am I to stupid to manage the blog categories?

    Now I feel like a jerk. :(

I don’t mind quick posts, hell I’ve got them, we just didn’t want people’s delicious accounts being published onto 9rules.

So you may have your quickposts available in your main feed if that pleases you.

Hi Marcel! I’m not sure what your problem is with the QuickPosts category. They are formatted differently than the other posts; maybe you think they’re ads, but they’re not? :-) Can you send me a screenshot?

Colin: Oh, I wasn’t feeling bad about excluding them from the main feed, so don’t feel like a jerk. I actually have not implemented asides for the LONGEST TIME because I wanted to keep the main feed clean. QuickPosts are just random things that are not necessarily related to the main continuity on my site.

Hm, my sis says that she can’t read the QuickPosts either because they are “small and blurry”. Maybe the CSS needs some pokin’

As usually I didn’t check the IE side too thoroughly, and it was REALLY REALLY TINY, so maybe that’s what the cause was.

That does it. I’m going to the bookstore to pick up “The Zen of CSS Design” and put this all to rest once and for all!!! :-)
