  • Coming Website Updates

    I spent a good chunk of time yesterday testing whether I could use the Network (aka Multisite) features of WordPress. The three holdups were the directory structure requirement, the inability to use “site folders” for legacy installations, and the new permalink structure. All three can be overcome, so I’ll be converting the website over the next week. The advantage? I’ll be able to consolidate several WordPress installs under one system, and I can finally expand into topical sub-blogs in greater depth than I felt I could do with the existing site.

  • Type-B Productivity

    SUMMARY: I’m coming to an end of a down cycle, and have come to the conclusion that that cleverness alone isn’t enough when it comes to directing actions on behalf of my own future self. In a way, this is a huge relief. This is where I accept that hard work is necessary, but I find myself wondering: I’m not a type A personality, so perhaps it makes sense to ditch type A expectations when it comes to doing the work. The challenge is developing an approach that still yields the kind of benefits I’d like to get out of life. (more…)

    Just read that researchers have created paper that can harness the electromagnetic spectrum using some kind of inkjet-printable nanoparticles. The day I can make self-powered e-ink paper tracking systems perhaps is coming a little sooner than I thought :)
