Day 2 of The Minimalist’s Game: TWO CARDBOARD BOXES

I have been stepping around these two boxes in the kitchen for at least three months. “I’ll flatten them and then recycle them, when I remember to go on the day when the recycling dumpster isn’t overflowing, which is usually a Wednesday but sometimes a Thursday.” Guess what happened? NOTHING.

The Fla-Vor-Ice box actually has some sentimental associations: it was used once as a photographic subject for a color study, at least. And it once held 200 popsicles that my cousin Jason and I tried to eat as quickly as possible while he was visiting for the summer (it takes weeks longer than you would think).

Out they go.
