I dropped these 2024 goals in 2017 when it became apparent that I didn’t have the ability to maintain steady progress on them, but I retained them as aspirational goals.
You can read the logic here, though I didn’t devote a lot of space to it. The general idea is that the desire to make cool things still exist, but I’m just not that good at managing my own energies and attention. My expectations perhaps are unrealistic too, but as 2020 rolls around I will probably revisit them.
For historical purposes, here’s what I originally wrote back in 2014!
Original 2024 Goals Intro
There are several desired skills and achievements that I’ve desired since I was in grade school, and as I come into middle age I’m realizing that they are still worthwhile. They are challenging and will take time. I established seven goals to complete in some manner for 2024, and set up this section of the blog to monitor my progress.
Each project is given a code like 1401, which is the year (2014) that I picked the project followed by a number. Hence, the range of projects for this year is 1401–1407. Click the tabs to see what progress I’ve made.
