Barcamp Manchester, a technical self-organizing conference, is happening this weekend in New Hampshire. One of the things we’re trying this year with the badges is adding “interest stickers” as a way of breaking the ice. We’re wondering if it will be fun, and also help people know what kind of things they can ask about. Nerds can be shy, y’know!
I found a nice resource for free icons at Game Icons, which are in SVG format. Importing them into Illustrator was fairly easy, though I had to then re-make the strokes at the proper thickness and boolean flattened geometry for my use. The logos for various organizations and companies were also easily found on the Internet. For simple icons, I just drew them in Illustrator very quickly.
I’m printing on 1.5 x 1.5 inch stickers on an Avery 22805 label sheet. Each sticker is sized a little bigger than 1.5 inches so they will “print to the edge”, AKA “full bleed”.
