One Page to Rule Them All: The Printable CEO™ Series Page

One Page to Rule Them All: The Printable CEO™ Series Page

Somewhere along the way I lost the direct link to the Printable CEO™ Series Page, which has made it difficult for people to find forms on the site. Oops! I’ve just made some minor updates to the series page, and have also pointed the footer at the bottom of this page to it to help people in the future. You’ll be always able to get to this page at https://davidseah.com/pceo.

The page is kind of a mess right now, but there’s a list at the top that links to all the 2007 Updates, which should help.

I’m still working on my revamp of the website to improve the utility of the website, which will have a new PCEO section and a better article index. The site has grown organically over the past 16 months and is in serious need of a refactoring. I’m adapting Bartelme’s Fresh Theme, as ported by iLemon’d, as the underlying structure of the new site before I reskin the graphics. It’s slow going, as I figure out exactly how I want to present information; the pages section and navigation is what I’m working on at the moment between projects, and then there’s the whole bottom footer issue…sigh. Thanks for your patience!

Have you checked out ExpressionEngine (www.expressionengine.com) yet?

The links to “https://davidseah.com/pceo” and “https://davidseah.com/archives/2005/11/12/the-printable-ceo-series”
    do not work.

I think you’ll lose readability with your new theme.

Mark: No, I haven’t had time to look at an entirely new CMS, so I’m sticking with WP.

Fred: I just retested the links, and am not seeing the problem you’re reporting. Are you getting a 404 error, or is it “not working” in that you’re having connection problems?

I’m still working on the theme, incidentally, but am curious what the issues you think with readability are. There’s quite a lot of work to do on it before it’s ready…I’d say I’m about 30% through ti.

FIXED. I had upgraded WP-Cache, and forgot to repatch it so it would be more defensive about cache files that did not successfully get created. I had fixed this a while ago too…BAH.

The PCEO page is currently displaying only the two banner images at the top of the page. There is no div #center material.

I just checked the Printable CEO Series Page and it seems OK on both public and private systems, right now anyway. Can you post the specific URL?

Thank Dan! I looked at that specific page and saw that the hack that I’m using assumes that a cached page less than 9216 bytes is probably messed-up and expires it. The new pages, when they crap out, are 9316 bytes.

Anyway, I should be able to detect problem pages again automatically, so hopefully the problem goes away. Thanks for bringing up the problem, guys!
