A nifty online periodic table of the elements, from your friends at The Royal Society of Chemistry. What’s particularly neat about it is each element representation is a tiny piece of artwork, which triggers the desire to click them all. Twitch learning without the seizures!
As you click on each element, you learn a bit about its use…did you know Americium is used in Smoke Detectors, or that there’s 4-5 grames of Gold in every 1,000,000 tonnes of sea water? You can also download a PDF of the chemical data, if you are so inclined.
There’s also a timeline of science with an emphasis on development in chemistry. The interface looks cool, but function is a bit too webby to be really cool.
