I was reading up on SCRUM, one of the “agile development” methodologies that have appealed to me. I’d like to do a personal one for my own project development. This might be a bad idea, but let’s see how it goes for the rest of the week. It’s a short week!
I think the first thing I need to make is a Product Backlog. This is the list of “features” I want for my project.
Which are, uh…well, I need to pick some kind of project that can be done in about a week. Anything, really. Let me pull out my fancy shmancy chart from today, and see what hits me.
Well, I have two main choices: BE A PRODUCT ENTREPRENEUR, or BE A DESIGN BUSINESS DEVELOPER. This is one slot of my three for the day. The other slots are for client work when available, and blogging. I’ll probably switch between product / business.
Product Entrepreneur
My big focus right now is developing a codebase for creating my own focusing application. I’ve started documenting this in the Code journal.
Design Biz
The one that comes to mind right now is the DESIGN BUSINESS side of things. Let me list a bunch of things that would be nice:
- Dig up all the testimonials
- Describe uniquenesses
- List my design processes and price them
- Fashionably express them
That’s about a week of work, maybe even two weeks, because these things tend to take time. But I will put an additional set of constraints on this:
- Very Basic Text
- Daily 15 minutes.
Next, I need to decide where to keep all this text. Probably here in the design journal. So let’s make a page there, and start the timer!
