Happy Moon Day!

Happy Moon Day!

From Earth to Moon Today is Moon Day! Or more specifically, it’s the 36th Anniversary of Man’s Landing On The Moon! From the NASA site:

On July 20, 1969, [Neil Armstrong] set foot on the moon. People around the world watched and listened as Neil slowly climbed down the ladder of the lunar lander. Then, he stepped on the moon’s surface where he could look up and see Earth far above him. There he said these well-known words, “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.”

Astronauts rock!

The good people at BoingBoing suggest that today is a great day for a moon day party. Go googlemap the moon, then watch your worn out VHS copies of The Cape over Tang and Moon Pies! Hug an astronaut, or dream of being one. Grill a big steak, stick an American Flag in it and call it done! Booyah!

Yeah! I was just telling my co-worker that I was going to put on my Moon-Boots and guzzle Tang once I got home. ;)
