Brad introduced me to Orisinal, a games / portfolio site by Ferry Halim. I wasn’t familiar with his work by name, but I’ve seen the games he’s done on the Cartoon Network before (the Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi game on the site).

It’s hugely inspiring (and maybe even a bit depressing) to see such great work in interactive game design. Fantastic eye for color and motion, doing original gameplay mechanisms that are a giant step beyond most flash games. He gets the need for the second-order gameplay hook. Awesome, awesome work. On top of that, I gather he does his own illustration for the games, which makes him quite a force to be reckoned with. An absolute delight.

The Orisinal portion of his site seems like R&D…you can see some of them mechanisms repeated in the games section of his portfolio.
