Star Reach Title Prototype
1993

I contracted for three months on Star Reach for Techtonics, a small game development team out in California. During those three months, I produced the bulk of the 2D sprites, scenery, and interface elements. My partner Mark produced 3D ships, additional sprites, and still more interface elements. After the three months, I started Art School, so Techtonics hired some more artists from InterPlay to produce a cut scene and "finish" the artwork over the next year and a half.

This was a title screen that wasn't used in the final game. I'm fond of this image because it marks the beginning of my 24-bit color learning process, displays and attempt to engage dynamic perspective, AND makes a tribute to Space Cruiser Yamato all at the same time! :-)
