I have a theory that when it comes to device drivers, the best ones originate from Germany. They're lean, robust, well-documented, and actually do the job. Drivers from Asia generally are pretty buggy. Drivers from the US seem to be weighed down by metric tons of CYA and crippled by feature management dictated by Marketing departments.

Anyway, I'm making a list of companies and people who seem to know something about device drivers. Scandinavian and German companies get automatically listed :-)

• Thesyscon has a Generic IEEE 1394 Application-level driver. This might help with the Point Grey camera stuff...it is driver hell.
