Avoid BS Goals

Richard Harrison, who wrote me yesterday to make sure I wasn’t heading down a road of crap (thanks man!), also pointed out two-shay.com. It’s “two brothers on personal development, philosophy, and being awesome”, and I found their article Avoid Bullshit Goals to be a timely kick in the pants. If you ever get tired waiting for me to get to the point in my writing, two-shay.com will be a welcome respite. Check it out!

French Version of the Emergent Task Planner

French version of the Emergent Task Planner

Zut alors! Thanks to reader Ashley Kwakernaak, there is now a French version of the Emergent Task Planner. It’s available on The Emergent Task Planner Page, in black & white and color for A4-size paper.

If there are other languages you’d like to see for the ETP, I have made a Microsoft Word .DOCX file with the source English text; email me if you’d like to try your hand at a translation. The major constraint is that the text needs to be the same length (or shorter) than the original English phrase for it to fit in the layout.

Groundhog Day Resolutions 2011: Realigning the Compass

I outlined my thoughts on the Groundhog Day Resolution System last week, pushing the actual goal definition for a later time. In today’s post, I push the definition a little further, but first there’s a detour through Joss Whedon’s Firefly, which has helped me see what was missing from my earlier plans. In short: I did not recognize my lack of love for my plans. Continue reading…

Facebook Page for David Seah (Dot Com)

I’ve just created an official page for this website on Facebook, so those of you who would like to keep connected with what’s going on behind-the-scenes can heckle me from a safe distance. Bring it! :) I plan on posting some more works-in-progress thoughts there, and I’m hoping it will be easier to interact with people there than it is on my Twitter. So if you’re using Facebook, check the new page out at http://facebook.com/DavidSeahCom. Thanks!

Book Review: The Personal MBA

The Personal MBA by Josh Kaufman I’ve just finished my review of Josh Kaufman’s The Personal MBA, which joins my short list of foundational awesome books. I’d received an advance copy back in 2010, and had intended to review it earlier, but got swept up in the holidays. You can read my review in the new “information wing” of the blog; pardon the dust and please watch your head :)
