Emergent Task Timer mentioned on “The Productivity Show”

The Productivity Show, a podcast out of Australia that, mentions The Emergent Task Timer about 25 minutes in. Many, many other interesting tools mentioned, in a very energetic format. It’s really great to hear what other people are doing with all these productivity tools in the context of improving their lives and their companies; Jodie Miners impressed me with the bubbly energy with which she rattled off an incredible unbroken string of acronyms that would have stunned an average person at 10 paces. I think I will have to find a bunch of productivity / paper geeks in the greater Boston area. That would be AWESOME!

Thanks for the mention, guys, and for the insight into what I should be doing to make the ETT and Printable CEO a little easier to explain (I really need to write that press kit).

I checked the Windows command line program she mentioned, SlickRun, and wow, What a great program. You program in your MagicWords, and bam, moving around the computer takes a fraction of the time that it used to. Every Windows user that’s clunking around with their mouse should try this. http://www.bayden.com/slickrun. Here’s to good freeware.

Dizzy: Thanks for the report! I wasn’t thinking of even trying that out, but reading your comment I’m totally going to try it. Thanks!

BTW, does anyone know of a good “favorite folders” extension for the regular file “Save-As” dialog box? I remember something like this for Mac OS System 9, but don’t have something for my PC. Using the Favorites in the Explorer menu works well for browsing, and typing in folder paths directly is a timesaver, but I’d just like to have some common “save directories” in my file dialog.

It’s a registry tweak, Dave and again, mucho thanks on posting the question. I started to work on it.

Rick: Dude, thanks for the registry tip! That’s going to save me some time!!! Thanks!

Hey David, thanks for the excellent feedback on the Podcast. Once again, I just want to say how fantastic the ETT is (oops another acronym), and how I’m using it every day. Thanks to GTD Wannabe http://gtdwannabe.wordpress.com/ for putting me on to your excellent tools. Also a big shout out to Michael at Blackbelt Productivity http://www.blackbeltproductivity.net/blog/ for working on getting your tools working for the IT industry.
Isn’t this blogging thing fantastic, how we can all link together around a common theme.

Yeah, Jodie! Productivity enthusiasts unite!!! :-) Glad to hear that the ETT is working out! Some things are really starting to come together!
