The Productivity Show, a podcast out of Australia that, mentions The Emergent Task Timer about 25 minutes in. Many, many other interesting tools mentioned, in a very energetic format. It’s really great to hear what other people are doing with all these productivity tools in the context of improving their lives and their companies; Jodie Miners impressed me with the bubbly energy with which she rattled off an incredible unbroken string of acronyms that would have stunned an average person at 10 paces. I think I will have to find a bunch of productivity / paper geeks in the greater Boston area. That would be AWESOME!

I checked the Windows command line program she mentioned, SlickRun, and wow, What a great program. You program in your MagicWords, and bam, moving around the computer takes a fraction of the time that it used to. Every Windows user that’s clunking around with their mouse should try this. http://www.bayden.com/slickrun. Here’s to good freeware.

BTW, does anyone know of a good “favorite folders” extension for the regular file “Save-As” dialog box? I remember something like this for Mac OS System 9, but don’t have something for my PC. Using the Favorites in the Explorer menu works well for browsing, and typing in folder paths directly is a timesaver, but I’d just like to have some common “save directories” in my file dialog.
