Day 3: Three Household Irritants

Day 3: Three Household Irritants

A bottle of gel, some expired medicine, and an old ac adapter Day 2 3 of The Minimalist’s Game: THREE MISCELLANEOUS HOUSEHOLD IRRITANTS

On the left is an AC adapter for a cat’s drinking fountain that developed a leak after 6 years of service. I bought a new motor (pictured), which in the six years had changed, so it didn’t quite work. And so it has been sitting by the NEW cat fountain for, oh, a year or so. I didn’t throw it away “just in case”, which is never. I could put it into my Giant Box of AC Adapters, which I keep in case I want to do some electronics projects some day, but I will just throw it away. There are no good memories associated with this thing.

In the middle is a 10 year old (I’m estimating) bottle of Men’s Hair Styling Gel. I never liked it, but I paid $7 for it and never used it up. It just sits in the bathroom looking like this, and I have in any case switched to Paul Mitchell on the recommendation of the person who cuts my hair now. I really hate this bottle, and now that I think of it I have received at least $20 of pure mental aggravation by having this thing in my bathroom. IT GOES>

On the right is a bottle of generic Ibuprofen, which has one or two tablets in it. It expired in 2008, which was probably the last time I had a headache requiring it (I use Alleve now).
